Be Inspired :: Delightful Details

Hello sunshine! I hope the weekend is treating you well. Today's wedding round up is a special one as it features an ex-colleague and friend of mine, Carolynn and her gorgeous wedding to her man Tom, captured by the amazing Karen Buckle! Congratulations once again you two! Here goes...

An alternative to a traditional wedding cake...

... a cheese cake! I am all for dessert (self-confessed sweet-tooth over here) but how amazing are these cheese towers! Yum! {from Say Cheese Towers}

This colour palette...

... grape, gold, amber and plum - so pretty! {by the clever folks Machell - styling, Bayly and Moore - photography and Fox and Rabbit - flowers - view the shoot here}

This unbelievable dress...

... the workmanship, detail, cut, draping, shade - swoon! {by Tadashi Shoji via Style Me Pretty, photographed by Kellee Walsh}

This floral installation...

... an absolute work of art {by Cecilia Fox}

And last, but certainly not least, the wedding of the aforementioned Carolynn + Tom...

... my favourite detail, aside from the gorgeous stationery of course - the sweet pea favours! A very fitting and personal touch, given Carolynn and Tom's line of work (they are the talented team behind The Small Garden). Photographed by Karen Buckle, be sure to view the full wedding over on Karen's blog. Styled to perfection!

I'm feeling extra spritely today as I'm finally getting over an icky cold - hurrah! May you enjoy what's left of the weekend - can't wait to catch up next week.

Caught My Eye

Good morning my pretties, hope you had a glorious weekend. You know what they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure and currently, I'm obsessed with the idea of upcycling - giving old pieces of furniture or useless objects a makeover to create something new and exciting. No, no, no, I'm not talking about sanding and slapping on some paint or stain on an op-shop find... I'm talking about taking an object and turning it into something with a new purpose - a complete reinvention. Enter my latest find, Decor Hacks, a site that showcases some of the best furniture/object transformations. Here are some of my favourites...

I love the look of this tree branch lamp...

How about a door-turned-coffee table...

I adore this side table made from a log slice and a cheap ikea stool...

Working with a small backyard? Check out this space-saving planter wall made from humble cinder blocks... (side note: love the acapulco chair - this is where you can get one)

I am sucker for old suitcases so I'm loving this vintage suitcase coffee table...

The best part about repurposing objects or furniture is creating your very own, one-of-a-kind piece - pretty awesome huh! I have a number of projects swirling around in my mind and when time permits, I'll be sure to share with you. Until then, tell me about your own 'hack' - whether it be for your home or for your wedding, I'd love to hear.

Be Inspired :: For the Love of Colour!

If you are having a winter wedding, your colour palette need not be dull. Deep, rich colour contrasted with uplifting shades of green and yellow make our featured colour palette anything but boring.

Inspired by this image, I've put together this colour palette of swatches from our colour chart, dark plum, custard, soft caramel and seafoam, available with the purchase of a sample pack from our wedding stationery range.

On a side note, I love this frame by Sloan Photographers - in fact, I simply ADORE everything about this entire wedding!

I'd love to hear about the colour palette you've selected for your wedding and the inspiration behind it. Or, if you're looking for colour palette advice for your stationery/wedding we'd love to assist! Either way, please feel free to leave your comment below - don't be shy ;)
